ACTIVITIES 

And it´s almost over. During the week we worked on our youthpasses, in reflexion sessions we filled in what we learned into the forms and now used that all for creating our Youthpasses.

After presentation of Turkish dances to local people we were also invited to a special event held at the town hall - St.Nicholas´ Day. We met the angel, Nicholas and devil and a lot of local people. And we also had a talk with the mayor of Řeka who appreciated our project very much!

Approaching to the end of our project. Let´s see how we are able to communicate. An activity in five groups, each of the groups worked on one part of the mascot, but could not see the other parts, just the postman could help a bit. And here is our result.

Final workshops about how we see our future in common Europe.

We visited a basic school in Karviná where we discussed with the pupils of the 8th grade, answered their questions, showed them our performance and taught them a Turkish dance.

We visited Havířov for a workshop "Traditions and modern life" and made interviews with local people about Turkish culture. Now we could compare the reactions, knowledge or prejudices of people whom we met in the mountains and the people from a bigger town.

We learned and practised traditional folk dances and started to work on our performance for local people and for the pupils of a basic school.

We interviewed local people whom we met in Pustevny and Frenštát pod Radhoštěm and filmed the interviews. Some of them knew a lot about Turkish culture, but some still think that a man can be married to four women and the Turkish ride camels. A very interesting activity!

We went on excursion to Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, Pustevny and Frenštát pod Radhoštěm where we interviewed local people to find out how much they know about Turkish culture and what prejudices they have about different culture. It was so cooooold and a bit foggy, but we enjoyed this day.

Another creative workshop. Here we worked in mixed groups again, talked about typical feasts in our countries - Christmas or Easter in the Czech Republic and ramadan or Independence day in Turkey. We prepared project posters and presented them to the other groups.
